Why does the TV Guide Flip bar read, “to be announced”?

There may have been a power interruption or slight interruption in service.

When a receiver is rebooted (disconnected and reconnected to power) or plugged in for the first time, it needs to download the guide information which can take up to 1 hour to complete.

During that time you can still access your channels directly by pressing the channel numbers on the remote instead of using the guide.
